I am sure that this thought echoes the majority of the hundreds (if not Thousands) of students who passed through Steps Cross. Mr Blake was our headmaster, and could be very strict with rules from “hands out of your pockets” to “ no running in the corridors “!!
Mr Blake’s care and dedication to his roll and to the school and all who attended were always evident, a man of great integrity and also a brilliant teacher when he took a class. I called him a few years ago and he was very pleased to hear from me and my life journey I had taken since leaving. Our thoughts and condolences to the family and all the teachers and students who knew Mr Blake. Thank you for giving me a safe place to be and to grow, you will always be in our hearts

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
